We are unveiling our new Westwood C405 at the 2017 Southampton Boat Show!
Back in 2014 we launched our first boat under the new Irish ownership, our A405, which was a new take on the traditional aft cabin style. The C405 is based on the same great semi-displacement hull as the Westwood A405, originally designed by Andrew Wolstenholme, making it perfect for inland and coastal use.
The C405 offers great flexibility throughout. It is available in single and twin engine options, with 3 layout options. The standard layout which will be on display at SBS2017 offers a full-size saloon up top with spacious galley below and side cabin. The master cabin is located in the bow fitted with separate shower compartment.
Great features of the C405 include:
- Bi-folding doors to the aft cockpit;
- Hull glazing throughout;
- Master cabin with separate shower compartment;
The C405 offers fantastic use of space, with the perfect compromise of open planned and light airy spaces, whilst providing plenty of storage space throughout.

We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our growing team. By joining our team you’ll get the opportunity to produce luxury motor boats, and will be involved throughout the build process as well as new product development. We are recruiting for the following roles:
BOAT BUILDER / MARINE ENGINEER
Candidates must be from a marine background with experience in boat building or boat repairs and can demonstrate ability to work in boat building environment. You should be methodical, have attention to detail and good quality workmanship. Being able to work safely in a controlled environment is key to this position as you will be responsible for your own safety and that of others. This role will include the following duties; first and second fix joinery, leisure marine engineering and knowledge of 12v electrical systems. Skills required:
- Previous marine experience
- Experience of working to a high standard of finish and high attention to detail
- excellent application of scribing and classic carpentry techniques
- Flexibility, the ability to adapt to varied tasks, working independently and as part of a team.
- Provide own tools
- GRP experience desirable but not essential
Candidate will focus on furniture production for interior fitout of new boats. The role will include first and second fix joinery, bespoke cabinet making, finishing and production of interior upholstery panels.
Skill required include:
- excellent application of scribing and classic carpentry techniques
- Ability to produce furniture to a high standard
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexibility, the ability to adapt to varied tasks, working independently and as part of a team.
- Provide own tools
TRAINEE / APPRENTICE BOAT BUILDER
Ideal candidate should be undertaking traineeship level 2/3 in joinery / engineering. Duties will include 1st & second fix joinery work, assist with fit out of new boats and general duties relating to marine trade. Candidate should be eager to learn, methodical, have attention to detail and good quality workmanship. Skills Required
- In / due to start traineeship in joinery (bench) or engineering.
- Good attention to detail and show initiative
- Methodical and thorough approach to work
- A desire to learn new skills in marine trade
- Punctual and reliable with conscientious attitude to work

One of our New Westwood A405 has arrived at Norfolk Boat Sales, just in time for their Summer Sales this weekend 11th & 12th June, 10am to 3pm.

The A405 left this morning to make her way to the Southampton Boat Show.

New A405 gets out on the water

We had a great day testing the A405 out on Lough Erne! Despite only being fitted with a single D6-370HP we were able to hit 18.5 – 19 knots, whilst the 5 blade propeller made a smooth ride and great handling.
We loved how the boat looked in the water with it’s new bonded windows and extended platform, we hope you like it to!
Other new features include: Saloon glass roof panels, complete interior redesign, bespoke and innovative furniture, new wood finishes, LED lighting throughout,

Westwood celebrates the new A405 with a Best of British Festival

Westwood celebrates the launch of its new A405 with a Best of British Festival. Before her debut at the Southampton Boat Show Westwood held a VIP preview at Crawfords Marina, Carrybridge to celebrate the first new model to be launch by the new Westwood team.
The event was well attended with over 150 people present at Crawfords Marina, Carrybridge, including Minister of Trade and Investment Arlene Foster, and local celebrity Pamela Ballantine.
The Westwood team showcased the 3 generation of the Westwoods with an A38 and A390 also joining in the launch. As part of the Best of British Festival the Westwood team were joyed by Land Rover who exhibited the new Range Rover and Evoque, and also Ford who showcased their Ranger and Kuga.
The guests toasted the new A405 and partied the night away with a hog roast supper and dancing.
